A private guild
for senior engineers.
FiveStarCoder is a closed fellowship for coders with a decade or more of shipped production work. Membership is by invitation. Tier fees are paid once, in full, only after the council has confirmed your seat.
Small by design. Quiet by habit.
Invitation only, always
No checkout, no public application. Every member is sponsored by an existing seat-holder and confirmed by the council. The door stays narrow on purpose.
A decade in the trenches
Ten years minimum of shipped production code — startups, fintech, infrastructure, government, open source. Verified by references and a private conversation. Never a take-home.
One fee. One life.
Tier fees are paid once and confer a lifetime seat. No subscriptions, no renewals, no upsells. Existing members are grandfathered into every future right.
Membership, calibrated to craft.
Your sponsor nominates you to the tier that matches your trajectory. You may be elevated later; you cannot purchase your way upward. Intake reopens January 2027.

Four steps. No shortcuts.
We do not accept open-market applications. Every path into the guild runs through an existing member — and intake itself only reopens in January 2027.
A member sponsors you
A current seat-holder submits your name, the proposed tier, and a private note on your work. Without a sponsor, there is no path.
The council reviews
We verify a decade of shipped work — repositories, references, prior roles. Read by three council members, anonymous to the wider guild.
A private conversation
Sixty minutes. No whiteboard theatre, no take-home. A frank exchange about systems you've built and trade-offs you would defend.
You take your seat
If admitted, you pay the one-time fee and receive your seat, your handle, and your sponsoring rights. The fee is paid once — for life.
Governed by members. Answering to no one else.
FiveStarCoder is run by a rotating council of Titan and Polaris members. No outside investors. No growth targets. No referral bounties. The guild stays small by charter — a few hundred seats, never thousands. Intake is opened only when the council judges the room can absorb new voices without losing its signal. The next intake window opens January 2027.

What members say.
The only room where I can post half-formed kernel ideas and get torn apart, kindly, by people who have actually shipped them.
No recruiters. No thought-leader noise. Twenty-two years of engineers comparing notes. The intake conversation alone was worth the fee.
I have sponsored two people in three years. That is the point. The room stays small and the signal stays unmistakably high.
Questions we are often asked.
When does intake reopen?
The next intake window opens January 2027. Until then, the council reviews only candidates already sponsored before the previous window closed. No new sponsorships are accepted in the interim.
Can I just buy a tier?
No. There is no checkout. The fee exists only to confirm a seat the council has already offered. Payment without an offered seat is fully refunded within 30 days.
Can I join the waitlist without a sponsor?
No. The waitlist is available only to candidates already privately sponsored by an existing member. We do not run a public waiting list and we do not respond to unsolicited applications.
How is "10+ years of experience" verified?
Through references from your sponsor, a private review of your shipped work (repositories, papers, prior roles), and a 60-minute conversation with two council members. We do not ask for CVs.
Is the fee really one-time?
Yes. One payment, lifetime seat, no renewals. If the council ever introduces a new optional service, existing members are grandfathered.
What if I'm removed or choose to leave?
Voluntary departure is on request, no questions asked; the fee is non-refundable after 30 days. Removal for code-of-conduct breaches is final and unanimous.
Where is FiveStarCoder based?
